Daybed Trundles

What is a trundle bed? By definition, a trundle bed is a bed that either rolls out or pops-up and fits underneath another bed. Trundles allow you to have much needed extra sleeping space without taking up extra room in your house when they’re not in use.

As we know many children love to have friends sleep over and there isn’t always an appropriate place for them to sleep. The floor is hard and cold, yet it can be a bit cramped to have two children in one bed. A wonderful alternative is to have a trundle daybed. It fits securely under the bed and can be easily pulled out at a moments notice. Just make sure to keep the mattress dressed with clean sheets and blankets, so that you’re ready for your guest!

Different Types of Trundles
There are some different styles of trundle beds. The most common and popular trundle is a metal framed pop-up trundle. There are wheels attached to a frame and you simply pull it out from under the daybed. There is usually a latch on the trundle that you unhook to allow the bed to rise up to a regular bed height. When the bed is not needed, it easily collapses down and is hidden under the main bed.

Also, there is a daybed trundle that is much like the pop-up, but just doesn’t rise off of the floor. In similarity it is a metal frame with attached wheels. It’s just a convenient way to store an extra mattress under the bed.

Lastly, there are wooden box like trundles that are made to be astetically pleasing to the eye. The mattress just sits down in a wooden frame that also has wheels attached underneath. These trundles do not pop-up off of the floor just like the previous trundle.

Trundle beds are an excellent choice for anyone’s home. They give an extra place to sleep without having to have rooms cramped with beds. Allow your rooms to be open and spacious with the convenience of trundles.
