Daybed Frames
Daybed frames come in all shapes and styles to fit with any one's personality. The most popular forms of frames are metal, wood, wicker as well as a metal and wood combination. This type of frame generally consists of three pieces: two side panels and one back panel. They are meant to be extremely versatile serving as both sleeping space, and as sofa-style seating space. They are generally the size of a standard twin size bed, thus a normal twin size mattress should fit any frame perfectly.
Link Spring
The link spring attaches to the two side panels of the frame to create a strong, stable bed. The link spring is the cross bar found in the front of the frame. In order to support a mattress and utilize a daybed in the way it's intended a link spring or other twin bed frame is necessary.
Trundles
Another type of frame includes a trundle bed, which is a bed that either pops up or pulls out from underneath the top bed. By using a trundle bed, you give yourself more sleeping space at night and more floor space in the bedroom during the day. The pop-up trundle opens up to the same level as the mattress. A pop-up frame accommodates a standard twin size mattress. The other type is the drawer trundle. Drawer trundles hold a twin-size mattress but do not elevate or extend completely out from the daybed unless you remove the drawer. Drawer trundles are extremely attractive and great for a child's sleepover or for a younger sibling when space is limited. |
